Faculty Biographical Sketches

John Caruso, Jr., Department of Education & Educational Psychology

Dr. John Caruso Jr., who is a Full Professor of Education, earned seven degrees and certificates including a B.A. in History & Political Science, M.A. in European History, M.A. in Educational Technology, M.S. in Sociology, M.S. in Counseling, P.E.D. in Educational Foundations, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Supervision. He holds NY Certification as a Middle School and Secondary Teacher in History/Social Studies, and CT Certification as an Elementary Education Supervisor, and a Counselor.

Dr. Caruso lived in Europe and Asia for five years, one year in Central America and the Middle East, and has visited more than 100 nations while conducting graduate seminars. Dr. Caruso was a Fulbright Scholar at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. He received a National Endowment for the Humanities Grant and an Eisenhower Grant. He studied and lectured at universities in Germany, United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and the United States including Yale, the University of Southern California, the University of Maryland, the University of Connecticut, Edinboro University, the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, ECSU, CCSU, SCSU and three CT community colleges.
