Patricia Lamb, Department of Nursing

Patricia received her BSN with a double major in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport and went on to complete a Master of Art in Nursing Education from New York University.

She started her nursing career as a Float RN and then settled onto the Telemetry Unit at Norwalk Hospital where she maintained ACLS certification for several years. While studying for her Master’s Degree, she was promoted to Clinical Nurse Specialist and then Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Norwalk Hospital, where she became Certified in her specialty by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. While a part of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team, she developed a monthly newsletter, conducted Heart Healthy Cooking classes with guest chefs, and participated in many community lecture series as well as community screenings. She was instrumental in obtaining a grant as well as many generous patient donations for new outpatient exercise equipment and Telemetry equipment for the program. Patricia has been a successful fundraiser for various organizations and created a Nursing Scholarship to recruit more males into the profession of nursing at the first WCSU Wolves Day of Giving within the first six months of her WCSU employment. She has been an American Heart Association CPR Instructor for over 30 years, volunteering through the Westport EMS system.

Patricia has spent the last 12 years teaching as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for several Nursing Programs in Fairfield County in various Acute Care Hospital Settings as well as Skilled Nursing Facilities. She has experience in the Skills and Simulation Laboratories and helped to develop a Multi-disciplinary Critical Care Simulation experience for nursing students. Other work experience includes School Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing and Aesthetic Nursing. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, healthy cooking, gardening, golf and is an avid reader.
