Writing Placement Information

• All students place directly into COMP 101. No placement score will be listed.
• Exception: Students who score 600 SAT, 27 ACT, or meet the required score for an AP or IB course are placed into any course with a Tier 2 Writing Attribute/Writing 2 and Information Literacy Learning Area. These students will see a score of 3 in the Writing Placement section of Banner.
• Students enrolled under catalog year Fall 2025 or later with a placement score of 3 must take any 3-credit Humanities course as a substitution for COMP 101..
