Welcome to Western Connecticut State University. For new students beginning school in the Fall of 2025, we are planning a very exciting fall orientation program.

When is Welcome Weekend?

The official first day of Welcome Weekend is Friday, August 22, 2025

Friday, Aug.22 – Monday, Aug. 25Welcome Weekend for all NEW students.

Location

Welcome Weekend activities will be held on the Midtown and Westside campus. Please visit our directions page, and our campus tour for more information.

Meet your Orientation Leaders

There are several New Student Orientation sessions scheduled prior to Welcome Weekend.

Welcome Weekend is geared mostly towards students to make them feel welcome and comfortable with their new surroundings. However, there will be activities for parents on Friday, August 22, such as the Alumni Legacy Photo (if one or both parents are alumni) and the Entering the Gates ceremony.
