Academic Resource Mentors
Our Mission
As ARMs, we encourage residents to balance academics and everyday life. With the assistance of our peers and campus resources, we create opportunities that support ongoing success.
What will you find here?
Welcome to the ARM Academic Success Spot. As you know, each of your buildings has at least one ARM, or Academic Resource Mentor. But there are lots of you, and they can't be everywhere at once, so we've created this page to provide you with some resources that you can access when your ARM isn't there to help.
Who and what are the ARMs?
ARMs are Academic Resource Mentors -- peers whose goal is to help you find the information, locate the resources, and connect you to people who can help you in your academic endeavors. They provide academic and life skills programming, too. More importantly, they serve as academic coaches, and working with them, you can identify issues that may be making your studies difficult, and begin to use strategies that will give you the ability to change the outcomes you want to change.
ARMs have office hours in your halls, when you can see them to get assistance. They are students, just like you! They can also help you touch base with PASS members, student volunteers who offer tutoring or assistance in subjects they do well in.
We're sure you'll see your ARM around in the building, but just in case, here are the ARMs for 2023 - 24:

Lucas Broughal
Hi! I'm Lucas Broughal. This is my first year as an ARM and I'm working from Centennial Hall. I'm a junior Applied Mathematics major with a focus in Actuarial Science. In contrast to my academic pursuits, I love to do improv theater, as well as go line dancing and hiking for exercise.
I look forward to being a part of your support system at WestConn and I wish you all an insightful and safe school year.
Hello! My name is Summer and I am an ARM in Centennial Hall this year. I am also a senior BFA Stage Management major. This is my first year as an ARM and I am so excited to work with all of you! I am great at time management and helping to create schedules. If you need any help with Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint I'm a great resource in the building.
When I'm not in the building hosting office hours, I am typically in the VPAC on Westside. I love to go hiking, read, and ski in the winter. If you need help with anything or even just want to chat, feel free to stop by or shoot me an email. I look forward to meeting you!

I have played the piano for over ten years and have recently picked up the electric guitar. My loves are makeup, alternative fashion, horror games, and cats! I believe my biggest strengths are my creativity, self-discipline, and perseverance. I'm excited to work with you and help you succeed!

I look forward to welcoming all our new freshmen to the community. As an ARM, my role goes beyond supporting academic success - I'm also here to create a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their experiences and challenges.
A little about me: I was born and raised in Ghana West Africa. I enjoy cooking and singing in my free time. If you ever need support, have questions, or just want to talk, please don't hesitate to reach out -- I'll be more than happy to help. Let's make this a fun, successful, and memorable semester together at Litchfield Hall!
I'm Nico Maysonet, the ARM for Newbury Hall, and this is my first year with the position. I am a sophomore Musical Theatre BFA at WestConn, and some of my interests include cooking, dance, and reading. I'm so excited to take on this role and connect with the residents!
