Hilary Oak – University Assistant (Theatre Arts Costume Shop Supervisor)

Hilary Oak (University Assistant) has designed costumes and managed the costume shop for St. Lawrence University, Crane School of Music – Opera Program, SUNY Potsdam – Drama Department, The NY Renaissance Festival, The Protean Theatre Company, The Ivoryton Playhouse, and The American University in Cairo, Egypt. Design credits include Merry Wives of Windsor, My Fair Lady, Our Country’s Good, The Mikado, Into the Woods, Triumph of Love, The London Cuckholds, Clea and Zeus Divorce, Ceremony, The Secret Marriage, Iolanthe, Pirates of Penzance, A Little Night Music, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, among many others.

She was the lead millinery designer and shop manager for Michael’s Bridal in Minneapolis, MN.  She worked as a theatre technician for the Santa Fe Opera, Arizona Scenic Studio, and The Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis. She has also been a puppeteer for Bread and Puppet Theatre in Vermont, Heart of the Beast Theatre in Minneapolis, and Hudson Vagabond Players in Nyack, NY.

Ms. Oak also served as the executive director for the St. Lawrence County Arts Council for twelve years; and has provided meeting facilitation, bookkeeping, and consulting services for a variety of not for profit arts and community organizations.

Hilary received her BFA in Theatre Design & Technology from SUNY Purchase; and is a graduate of the High School of Performing Arts in New York City.
