Irene Hatch – Adjunct Instructor (Costume Design)

Irene Hatch (Adjunct Instructor): Her 2015 costumes for WCSU’s production of Parade received a national Distinguished Costume Design award from KCACTF. Other WCSU shows: Smokey Joe’s Café, You Can’t Take it With You, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. For the past 6 years, she has also worked for Roberta Hamelin Costumes in Durham, CT where she’s gotten to stitch costumes for the Broadway productions of On the Town and Beautiful as well as all five U.S. productions of Hamilton!!! She received her MFA from Indiana University/Bloomington. When she’s not working on costumes, she is a nurse assistant in the Labor and Delivery Department at the hospital and also teaches group exercise classes at the Y. (It’s an odd mix, but it seems to work.) She lives in Middletown and has two daughters who are, of course, learning how to sew.
